The Family

Benji and Jen are the parents of two beautiful children; just your typical Hawaiian family who had a vision to make the Hawaiian language an everyday occurrence in the lives of their children. Our goal is to push and raise leaders whose narrative is enriched by their heritage.

John

Jen – The cornerstone of Kumu Cards. Jen grew up in Hāna, Maui, known for its beauty and strong connection to culture. Jen develops, implements, and tests all of our ideas and processes used in our products with our own keiki.


Luke

Benji – Grew up in Nanakuli homestead on the west side of Oahu one of the largest populations per-capita of aboriginal peoples in Hawaii. He works as a professional sailor and is Working hard to move full time to the creative work of kumu cards so he can stay ashore full-time with his family.
